Prudential earnings dip as Japan restrictions weigh on results
Prudential Financial reported adjusted operating earnings per share of $3.77 for the third quarter, above consensus but below the year-earlier figure. Lower earnings in Japan offset solid results in its U.S. businesses and PGIM. Japan’s Financial Services Agency has barred Prudential of Japan from new business until January 31, 2027, while also partially suspending a Gibraltar Life sales channel.
