Katie Price hit devastating news and used a stark Instagram post to urge followers to value time with loved ones. The former glamour model later clarified that the message was not about her mother, Amy, whose health has been a serious concern for the family.

The post appeared as white text on a black background. Price wrote that she had received “devastating news tonight” and urged people to cherish moments with those close to them and build memories.

Then she addressed the question many followers might have had. “No it’s not my mum,” Price added, followed by a prayer emoji.

Katie Price’s message and her mother’s health

The Sun reported the Instagram post and its clarification. Price did not identify what the news concerned in the message, which focused on love, health and family.

Her mother, Amy, has Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a lung condition that causes irreversible scarring of the lung’s air sacs and can make breathing difficult. Amy underwent a lung transplant in 2023 after falling into a coma and being days from death.

Price has also spoken about her mother’s condition in connection with her appearance at the trial of her ex, Kieran Hayler. The Sun reported that Hayler was ultimately cleared of raping a girl, 13. During the proceedings, Price said she had not been able to visit Amy because she had a cold, and described her mother as having only days.

“I did promise my mum I’d see her tomorrow,” Price said.

The contrast between the new post and her family circumstances prompted attention: Price’s message sounded alarming, but she explicitly said Amy was not the subject. That distinction matters as readers interpret a brief, emotional social media update. It also keeps the focus on what Price actually shared, rather than treating the post as confirmation of another development in Amy’s illness.

A public message about time with family

Price has previously thanked people she described as her “biggest supporters” for backing her during a difficult period involving her mother. Last month, she also appealed to Amy to “find the strength to stay” in an emotional Instagram post, The Sun reported.

Her latest note took a broader tone, connecting the news she had received with health and family. The advice to cherish time with loved ones was the central message, even as the identity of the person or event behind the news remained unstated in her post.

Price’s clarification was direct: “No it’s not my mum,” she wrote.
