Sorong inflation control tightened as food prices rise

The Sorong Regency government is stepping up price checks on staple foods to slow inflation and protect supply. The Trade, Cooperatives, and UMKM Office now monitors prices daily, while the regional inflation team regularly inspects distributors and markets. BPS said Sorong's inflation in May 2026 reached 2.16 percent year on year.
