Brann beat lincoln red imps 2-1 at Brann Stadion in Bergen in a Conference League match, leaving the Gibraltar side unable to turn late pressure into an equaliser. The BBC match report recorded several chances for Lincoln Red Imps in the closing stages, but the home team held on for the win.

Manuel Toledano tested Brann goalkeeper Simen Nilsen with a left-footed effort from the centre of the box, which Nilsen saved. Toledano then missed with a right-footed shot from a similar position, while Graeme Torrilla sent a header wide after a cross from Facundo Álvarez.

Close, but not enough.

Lincoln Red Imps also won corners as they pushed forward, but the BBC report said Nano was caught offside and Torrilla committed a handball. The match ended 2-1 to Brann.

Red cards and late pressure

The match report lists Neraysho Kasanwirjo as sent off in the 23rd minute. It also records G. Cardozo receiving two yellow cards in the 61st minute, reducing Lincoln Red Imps to nine players, according to the match roundup headline supplied with available reports.

Those dismissals shaped the contest for the visitors, who had to manage the remainder of the game with fewer players. Even so, they continued to create opportunities near the end. The recorded attempts from Toledano and Torrilla show how close Lincoln Red Imps came to making the finish more difficult for Brann.

Brann made changes during the match, including substitutions involving J. Torsvik, N. Holm and K. Eriksen. Lincoln Red Imps also brought on Yussef Flalhi, Manu Toledano, F. Álvarez and N. Pinto, according to the BBC lineup and match events.

The result matters to both clubs’ Conference League campaigns. A win gives Brann the points from this meeting, while Lincoln Red Imps leave Bergen with a narrow defeat despite their late attempts to level the score.

Brann hold on at home

The match was staged at Brann Stadion, with Brann listed as the home side. GOAL’s preview had described Lincoln Red Imps as arriving in strong form, reporting four wins from their previous five matches and a 2-0 victory over Europa FC in their most recent outing. It also said the Gibraltar team had scored nine goals across that five-match stretch.

That form did not produce a result in Bergen. The visitors still forced Brann into defensive work late in the game, with Nilsen making a save from Toledano and Lincoln Red Imps winning corners. The BBC match report’s final score was Brann 2, Lincoln Red Imps 1.

At the end, Toledano’s right-footed attempt from the centre of the box went wide of the right post.
