Sony’s playstation plus october game catalog brings Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and day-one co-op shooter Mycopunk to subscribers, with the main lineup available from October 20 unless otherwise noted. PlayStation Plus Premium also adds Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition.

The announcement gives Extra and Premium subscribers a mix of crime action, open-world adventure and cooperative shooting, while Premium members get two additional titles. Mycopunk joins the catalog on its release day. For players deciding whether to use their subscription this month, the lineup’s arrival dates matter: Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 comes later, on October 27, in the US, the UK and Japan.

Three headline additions arrive October 20

In Mafia: The Old Country, players follow Enzo Favara through the criminal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Sony describes it as a third-person action-adventure focused on the origins of organized crime, with a story set in a dangerous era of vendettas and protection rackets.

The setting shapes the game’s combat and atmosphere. Sony’s description points to stiletto blades, sawed-off lupara shotguns and mafiosi moving on foot, horseback or in turn-of-the-century motorcars. The company presents the title as a gritty mob story with cinematic storytelling and realistic detail.

Horizon Forbidden West returns players to the far-future world of Aloy, who explores a frontier threatened by machines and other dangers. Sony says the game includes distant lands, new tribes and alliances with factions, as the protagonist tries to stay ahead of a powerful enemy.

Mycopunk is the month’s day-one release. The mission-based looter shooter puts players in a squad of robot exterminators confronting fungal aliens on a planet-wide operation. Sony says it includes four-player co-op and hundreds of hand-crafted upgrades.

A busy month for co-op.

The game’s setup also carries a comic premise: the crew works for the SAXON corporation after being given one last chance to prove profitable. Its missions involve pushing back the fungal threat while investigating whether the disaster is natural and whether the company has misfiled the team’s taxes.

Premium additions and a later horror release

PlayStation Plus Premium adds Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. Sony’s announcement does not give separate availability dates for those titles, but says the full lineup will be playable from October 20 unless otherwise noted.

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 is the exception listed for October 27. It will be available in the US, the UK and Japan. The game sends players deeper into the Playtime Co. toy factory, where they face puzzles and dangerous toys while trying to escape.

Sony also flagged exclusive offers tied to its Horrorfest celebrations, though the announcement does not detail the offers in the supplied lineup information. The company’s post says the October catalog is available to PlayStation Plus members, with Mycopunk launching into the Game Catalog worldwide on October 20.
